Misty Mountains

As anyone who has been following my blog will know, I love mountains. The fact that I live in the lee of one of the most beautiful mountains in the world, also helps. I have painted many pictures of Table Mountain, but these Misty Mountains called to me and, I believe, rendering them in pastels added to their mystique.

Dear Heather,
This is a beautiful painting! I love the subtlety of your colours. Is this a kind of rice paper?
I am also incredibly attached to our mountain. I have also painted it many times, it just gets in your blood!

Heather - just to say here on your blog - thanks for including me on your blog-roll and the comment you left as well - with your background and the work I can see here - it means a lot.

Thanks again

Steve

Dear Dianne and SCL, sorry to have taken so long to say thank you so much for your comments. I love the interaction and reaction of the blog but am not always that good at actually getting down to using it.

Di, in answer to your question, this was done on kitchen towel paper. The texture of my somewhat strange choice gave a lovely feel, which I loved, to the overall picture.
